Kudos to David Chaikin and Fonz Nartatez on a great Hawai‘i Dinosaur Volleyball Tournament, which opened Friday at Kalapaki Beach and ran through Sunday afternoon.
If you’re a veteran, Sen. Mazie Hirono wants to meet and talk story with you Monday (it’s a holiday for most) from 1:30 p.m. at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center.
Harvey Maeda of The Kaua‘i Classic Cars said the group will be at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center to help the vets on March 2. That’s the same day as First Saturday in Kapa‘a and Harvey said they’ll be at the First Hawaiian Church for that event as well.
Norberto Garcia and Robin Sanchez are also hosting “A Night at the Museum” March 1 at the Kauai Veterans Museum.
Kudos to Coach Mac Pigott and all the KIF people on a great inaugural wrestling season. Sen. Ron Kouchi felt bad he had to represent Rep. Derek Kawakami, who was stricken with the flu bug, but congratulated everyone on their unique status — the first class of KIF wrestlers. Mahalo to Coach Jon Kobayashi on hosting the first KIF wrestling championships…it worked out since Michael Rita and the Waimea baseball team was playing Kaiser at Hanapepe Stadium.
