Kudos to Loke Dahle, Edwin Vea and all those hard-working Miss Garden Isle and Miss Kaua‘i pageant coordinators on another great event!
People got more than their money’s worth as Skylar Kamaka, our reigning Miss Hawai‘i, was present and did a special number as did Jeslie Ann Vidinha Pavao, who will be competing at the Queen Liliu‘okalani Keiki Hula competition later this year.
Of course, Sherri Sanchez-Holcomb and the Excel Dance Studio performers always do a great job, as did J Robertson, who looked dapper in his white tuxedo.
Kudos to Rev. Noriaki Fujimori and the Waimea Higashi Hongwanji on a very poignant two-year commemorative memorial service of the Japanese earthquake and resulting tsunami. Hanamatsuri, or the birth of the Buddha, services are coming up on April 7 at the Lihu‘e Hongwanji Mission.
More kudos to Lorna Santos, Ellen Ching and all those hard workers at the Lawa‘i Cannery Self Storage and Warehouse! Fred Zollinger (if you missed his coral scene at the KSA show, you missed a good piece) was shopping, stopping off to check out Mike Curtis’ offering at the benefit for the Easter Seals.
