Elvrine Chow of Heavenly Haku said there were two girls from Oregon who took advantage of the sprinkles to have haku lei made, the Oregonians looking like bonnets with no bonnets.
Meanwhile, rain, or no, the baseball game went on at Vidinha Stadium. Mahalo to Dean Toyofuku and his crew on a great baseball program, and Darnel Aquino had her Project Grad people dispensing snacks (the popcorn hit the spot, Ross Shimabukuro!). Aaron Uyeda might not be on the coaching staff, but did a great job with the announcing.
Ernie Blachowiak was having his hands full at the Kaua‘i Community College courts where the rains would dump as fast as they could squeegee the courts. Reni Pereira (she didn’t forget her camera, this week) even called Wong’s Restaurant to see how the weather was in Hanapepe.
