PO‘IPU — Opening ceremonies in celebration of Prince Kuhio’s birthday were held March 24 at the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort and Spa. The event included live entertainment, protocol, arts and crafts vendors, a silent auction, activities and Hawaiian cultural demonstrations.

The event included live entertainment, protocol, arts and crafts vendors, a silent auction, activities and Hawaiian cultural demonstrations.
Entertainment kicked off with the beats of the Tsunami Taiko Drummers, followed by Hawaiian contemporary Hawaiian musicians Haunani Kaui and Roblynn Dasalia, Charles Iona and Dayne Pabo and Kekai Chock and Gabriel Ornellas.
An intimate silent auction — featuring hotel stays and dinner certificates — benefited Pa Hula Kane O Keoneloa and the annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk.
