John-Eric Parinas of Eleele, Kauai, died on March 14, 2013 at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 35. Born on August 15, 1977, in Waimea, Kauai, he was an IT Technician with ITT.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Fernando and Antonia Parinas.
He is survived by his parents, Nestor and Avelina Parinas of Eleele; brother, Jay (Gail) Parinas of Waipahu; grandparents, Alvaro and Beatriz Serapio of Eleele; aunts, Rose Perona of Chicago, Leticia Delacruz of Philippines, Zeny (Clem) Lum of Las Vegas, Cris (Roel) Acob of Eleele; uncles, Donato (Mercy) Parinas of Kekaha, Puliriano (Connie) Parinas of Sacramento, CA, Amado (Rebecca) Serapio of Eleele, Hory (Leticia) Serapio of Eleele, Fidel (Estrella) Serapio of Kaumakani; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, with viewing from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and Mass to be celebrated at 10 am. Burial will follow at the Hanapepe Public Cemetery.

Amelia “Emily” Louis Perreira of Hanamaulu, Kauai passed away on March 29, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 96. She was born on January 29, 1917 in Omao, Kauai. She was a Homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband Frank G. Perreira and her son Gaylord G. Perreira.
She is survived by her son; Gregory (Crescencia) Perreira;
9 Grandchildren: Ryan (Joe-Ann) Perreira, Wesley (Stacy) Perreira, Trisha Perreira, Randall (Suzan) Perreira, Gregory S. Perreira, Richard (Cherelle Rego) Perreira, Michael Perreira, James Perreira, Victoria Perreira and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday April 11, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church from 8:00 am to 9:45 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. and burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Arlene Pualani Balauro of Omao passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 29, 2013, at the age of 46. She was born in Honolulu on September 15, 1966, and was a dedicated homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Terrence Balauro; four children, Tee Balauro Maui; Adaire (Blaine) Camden of North Carolina; Justine (Jerold) Balauro of Puhi; Brittany (Willie) Balauro of Lihue; 6 grandchildren; parents, Paul and Nani Higa of Omao; six siblings, Elton (Cherie) Kahalekai of Wailua Homesteads; Kauilani (Alex) Stahl of Lihue; John (Rebecca) Kahalekai of Omao; Jackie (Tom) Contrades of Wailua Homesteads; Roxanne (Walter) Kahalekai of Hilo; Orrin (Pat) Kahalekai of Arizona; step-brothers, Parrish, Paxton and Palmer Higa; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013, Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Kalaheo Ward with services from 1 to 2 p.m. No visitation.

Katherine Elaine Samiano of Wailua Homesteads, Kauai, Hawaii. She passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 17, 2013. She was born in Koloa, Kauai on June 10, 1942. She was retired from K-Mart and Star Market.

Florencio (Flory) Bumanglag Basilio of Eleele died peacefully at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 17, 2013 at the age of 64. He was born in San Nicholas IIocos Norte, Philippines on December 19, 1948. He retired from Grand Hyatt Resort and Spa, as a lead public area employee on Kauai.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eulalio & Alejandra Basilio; brother, Cornelio Basilio; late wife, Milagros Basilio; sister-in-law, Salvacion Basilio; brother-in-law, Victorino Villanueva Sr.; and his nephew Michael Basilio.
He is survived by his wife, Bonifacia A. Basilio of Eleele; son, John Mark of Eleele; daughters, Christine (Rish Charles) Cablingan of Eleele, Milaflor (Richard Galano) Basilio of Eleele, Florence (Randall Koide) Basilio of Honolulu, Jennelyn Basilio of Eleele; brothers, Teofilo Basilio of Kalaheo, Roberto (Estrella) Basilio of Maui, Felino (Dionicia) Basilio of Eleele, and Rhomy (Cely) Basilio of Eleele; sisters, Carridad Villanueva of Waimea, Lucena (Agrifino) Bunsaan of Waimea, and Angela (Patrick) Tayamen of Eleele; sister in law, Clarita Basilio of Kekaha; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.

Raymonda “Monda” Helen Haney of Hanamaulu passed away at home on March 8, 2013, at the age of 54. She was born in Lihue on January 20, 1959, and was the kitchen manager at Polynesia Café in Hanalei.
She is preceded in death by her mother Esther Rapozo Kuhaulua; grandparents, Helen and Joseph I.
She is survived by her father, Stanley Carvalho; ex-husband, Michael Cardinez; four children, Kalei (Ricky Rego) Cardinez, Kanani (Harvey) Makekau, Mikey (Carolan) Cardinez, Tyrus “TC” Cardinez; five sisters, Noreen Kaneholani, Billie-Jean Hairston, Moki (Frank) Rivera, Abi Kuhaulua, Lokelani Kuhaulua; seven brothers, Alika (Shirleen) Haney, Eleu (Leila) Kuhaulua, Kaina Carvalho, Kaleo Carvalho, Destry Carvalho, Dawson Carvalho, Mitch Fanning; ten grandchildren, Megan Rego, Ricky Boy Rego, Cobie Cardinez, Daniel Makekau, Sherilyn Makekau, Kaiona Nakamura, Keona Nakamura, Nainoa Cardinez, Auree Cardinez, Kymani “small fry” Cardinez; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.

Ginger Lee Dee Ruiz of Kekaha, Kauai, passed away on March 28, 2013 at home at the age of 46. Born on July 16, 1966, in Waimea, Kauai, she was a former sales clerk at a gift shop in Lihue Airport.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Aniscacia “Anna” Feliciana; and brother, Renfred D. Ruiz.
She is survived by her father, Alfred “Freddy” G. (Doris) Ruiz of Kekaha; brothers, Maurice (Kim) Ruiz of California; and Fredric (Emarina) Ruiz of Waimea; sister, Dianna “Dee” (Llewellyn “Lew”) Young of Kekaha; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Leonora Curammeng Albayalde passed away at home on March 31, 2013 at the age of 92. Born on June 12, 1920 at Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte Philippines, she was a News reporter with Honolulu Star Advertiser.
Preceded in death by her parents, Marcos and Ana Curammeng; and brother, Alfredo Lagazo Curammeng.
She is survived by her brother, William L. (Gloria) Curammeng Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Matsuzo & Tsuru Eto Haruki; son, Joel Suzuki; sisters, Hisayo Nakamura; Momoyo Moribe; Tokiyo Arita; Sadako Shimabukuro; and Somie Haruki; brother, Hiroshi Haruki.
She is survived by a son, Gerald Suzuki, Iowa; daughters, Marilyn (Byron) Haugh, Kapaa, and Ann (Bob) Foos, Missouri; sister, Yoshie Kodama, Kaneohe; brother, Dr. Richard (Jane) Haruki, Kapaa; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, caregiver, Debbie Bahnmiller, Kauai; numerous nieces & nephews and friends.
