KALAHEO — Aizen Yamashita scored nine second-half points to lead Team Lihu‘e Black past Team Lihu‘e Girls, 25-13, Monday night at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Playing in the Kaulupono Termite Basketball league, Isabella Bateman scored seven second-half points to lead the Westside basketball girls to 20-17 win over the Westside basketball boys.
Isabella Bateman had a game-high seven points for the girls. Momilani Martins finished with six points.
Jayden Mizumoto-Manuel scored five points for Westside boys.
In the nightcap, the Team Lihu‘e Black led throughout the night despite the strong inroads made by the Team Lihu‘e Girls’ Marrisa Layosa and Courtney Rosa.
Yamashita finished with a game-high 11 points with Chace Baliaris added eight points. Keane Tibon finished with four points.
Layosa and Rosa topped the Team Lihu‘e Girls’ with four points each followed by Rebekah Corpuz with three points.
The nine teams in the Extreme Termite, or players in Grades 4 and 5, will complete their regular season games on May 4 with playoffs starting on May 6.
Championship for the Extreme Termites will take place on May 13 at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Final games for the Mighty Mites, or players in kindergarten and grade 1, and the Termites, or players in grades 2 and 3, will be on May 18 at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
The Mighty Mites and Termites play on Saturdays while the Extreme Termites play on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
