Congratulations to Angela Agustin, Asaka Herman (Tina Albao said she was nervous) and Tina on the new Boys & Girls Club, Lihue Clubhouse, which was dedicated Tuesday.
John Sydney Yamane (he’s the B&G Board prexy) was thrilled, introducing Janice Bond as a new B&G Board member.
Actually, Janice has a grandson in the B&G Lihue Clubhouse who can really do the Tahitian (mahalo to the B&G Kapaa Clubhouse and B&G Waimea Outreach for the great entertainment).
Bev Brody of Get Fit Kauai and Thomas Noyes missed out since the Lihue Clubhouse was a result of a talk the B&G Lihue Outreach kids had with Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. during his lunchtime walk during spring break … great job, kids!
State Sen. Ron Kouchi was present along with the governor’s Kauai liason Wanda Kau-Shibata, and Jim Clark, the B&G Club officer from the national office made it a point to greet each of the 100-plus B&G Lihue Clubhouse members just before cutting the ribbon to the new facility.
