LIHU‘E — A Kapa‘a man escaped injury in a one-vehicle rollover in Hanama‘ulu on Thursday afternoon.
Kaua‘i Police Department reported the accident occurred about 10:30 a.m. A 61-year-old old Kapa‘a man was southbound on Kuhio Highway in a Ford pickup truck when it veered off of the highway in the vicinity of the Laukona Road junction.
The pickup struck flipped over after striking a guy wire attached to an power pole.
The man was not injured and was pulled from the wrecked truck by bystanders.
Kuhio Highway was closed in both directions for roughly one hour while police investigated the incident and removed the overturned truck. Traffic was diverted onto side streets into Hanama‘ulu.
