LIHU‘E — If you haven’t got mom a present yet, don’t feel guilty — do something about it.
The Garden Island Artisan Fair at Kapa‘a Beach Park Saturday is a perfect place to take care of it, according to event organizer Judith Webb.
“It’s a good place to shop for Mother’s Day,” Webb said. “We have a really good selection of handmade island art, including photography, jewelry, clothing, wood carving and lots of other things.”
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and there will be plenty for the whole family to spend the entire day there.
Webb said there will be shave ice and ice cream for the children — and adults too — ice-cold coconuts and some authentic Mexican food.
Heifara will entertain the crowd with Tahitian drumming.
If the trade winds bring some rain, no problem. A giant tent, 40-feet by 100-feet, will keep the booths and the crowd from getting wet, and another tent will cover the eating area.
