Congratulations, Jaedyn Janae Puahaulani Pavao on earning the 2025 Miss Aloha Hula title at the 62nd Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo! (Karin Panui and Made Jiminez of Mailelani’s are there not to sell, but to buy!) Watching that competition (thank you, KFVE TVfor the live!) is almost like being at that Kauai Interscholastic Federation baseball game that went 19 innings over two days.

Kudos to Greg Gonsalves, Tommy John Cox, Dino Pabre, Brandon Moises, and all those hands that have been doing the baseball finals and the tennis finals while balancing everything else.
Don’t worry about the playoff on Saturday, Kumu Hula Leinaala Pavao Jardin … hopefully, you’re getting the digital feed. The playoff between Kapaa and Waimea baseball is now on Tuesday starting at 3:30 p.m. at Kapaa High School. Now, go take care of the kahiko and auana students so they can join Jaedyn.
Congratulations, Wesley Umakoshi and the Bacon Universal crew on the first Kubota Orange Days (the shirts were very cool looking) where Padric Gallagher set up the Kauai Humane Society display alongside all those tractors and heavy equipment. And Stephanie Funtanilla of Nana’s House hasn’t asked Franklin for help with the Ohana Fun Fest on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Grove Farm Puhi park open field?
It’s free, and there is supposed to be a lot of keiki and family activities (Just like the St. Theresa School Carnival … last chance, tonight from 6 p.m.) coordinated by the Child and Family Service and the Nana’s House and Hale Hoomalu.
Don’t forget May Day!
