Shizuko Shimabukuro
Shizuko Shimabukuro, of Eleele, passed away on March 10, 2025, at the age of 101. She was born in Lawai, Kauai, on Feb. 14, 1924, and was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband Choji Shimabukuro, siblings Maruyo Maedo, Kenichi Ikehara and Kenneth Ikehara.
She is survived by her son George (Diane), daughters Charlotte (Walter) Yasumoto, Jo Ann Harada, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Takeko (Akira) Oyakawa.
Private services will be held. The family requests no koden (monetary gifts).

Dominic Damon Rosa Sr.
Dominic Damon Rosa Sr., of Lihue, passed away on March 31, 2025, at the age of 61. He was born on Sept. 11, 1963, in Placerville, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cecelia A. Gabriel and Joseph A. Rosa and stepfather Robert K. Gabriel.
He is survived by his wife Gloria Radloff-Rosa of Lihue, sons Chico (Nyleen) Olivas of Hanapepe, Lucas “Alika” (Tasha) Rosa of Lihue, Dominic (Cyndi) Rosa Jr. of Lihue, Christopher Rosa of Eleele, Tony Cooper of Lihue, Stanley Rosa of Lihue, daughters Wynona Rosa of Hanapepe, Gabrielle (Derick) Rosa of Hanapepe, Susan Rosa of Lihue, Mary Rosa of Lihue, 18 grandchildren, brothers Richard (Stacey) Rosa of Wailua, Paul (Kili) Gabriel of Honolulu, sister Melanie Rosa of Kekaha, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Garden Island Mortuary. Visitation from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a celebration of life at noon. Lunch will follow at the main pavilion at Salt Pond Beach Park. The family suggests casual attire, and flowers and leis are welcome.

Arline Yoshiko Matsunaga
Arline Yoshiko Matsunaga passed away on Oct. 14, 2024. She was born in Lihue, Kauai, on June 20, 1936, and lived in Eleele, Kauai. She married her husband Paul Matsunaga on April 12, 1958.
Arline was preceded in death by husband Paul, sister Alexa Moon, parents Arata and Kiku Minatoya.
She is survived by daughter Doreen (Elpidio) Cadavona, son Scott (Pakalana) Matsunaga, granddaughter Kellianne (Daniel Jones) Cadavona, grandson Tyler (Tiffany) Matsunaga, granddaughter Sarah Matsunaga and great-granddaughter Charlotte Cadavona Jones.
Services will be on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawai.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m., followed by service at 11 a.m. The family requests aloha attire.

Wilfred Norio Kimura
Wilfred Norio Kimura, 91, of Kapaa, passed away on Dec. 31, 2024. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 29, 1933. He served in the U.S. Army and later retired as a District Engineer with the State of Hawaii.
He was preceded in death by his parents Tokuhei and Yoshino Kimura, brothers Tom Kimura, Robert Kimura, Earl Kimura and sister Gladys Kimura.
Wilfred is survived by his loving wife Janet Aiko Kimura, sons Kenneth (Lisa) Kimura of Wailua, Kit (Yukiko) Kimura of Wailua, daughters Terilyn (Wayne) Rider of Las Vegas, Diane (Darrell) Snyder of Honolulu, brother Glenn (Cynthia) Kimura of Honolulu, grandchildren Jamie and Ian Kimura, William Kimura, Coe, Ben and Max Snyder and great-grandchild Lyla Mauro.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, at All Saints Church, Kapaa. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with Mass to follow at 10 a.m. The family requests casual attire and no Koden or flowers.

Ruben Lagundino
Ruben Lagundino, 74, of Lihue, passed away on March 30, 2025, at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital. He was born in the Philippines on Feb. 10, 1951. A proud United States National Guard veteran, Ruben dedicated 20 years of service as a pest controller at Līhu‘e Plantation and later retired as a custodian with the County of Kaua‘i.
He was preceded in death by his parents Nemicio Lagundino and Rufina Balaan, brothers Onofre, Percival, Jimmy, and Rudy Lagundino.
Ruben is survived by his loving wife Fely Pascual Lagundino, brother Elmer (Thelma) Lagundino, sisters Zenaida Ano, Teresita (Mario) Tangonan, and Fe Ramos, brothers-in-law Edmund (Cora) Pascual and Ruven Pascual, sisters-in-law Delia (Henry) Bumagat and Josie (Jaime) Pablo, along with numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Church. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m., with Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery. The family kindly requests casual attire.
