OK, it’s a holiday for Good Friday, but there’s a lot of things happening, including the first-ever Kauai Police Activities League track meet for middle school athletes at the Island School campus starting at 9 a.m.
OK, it’s a holiday for Good Friday, but there’s a lot of things happening, including the first-ever Kauai Police Activities League track meet for middle school athletes at the Island School campus starting at 9 a.m.
Athletes who normally utilize the track and field facilities at Vidinha Stadium are now moving to alternative sites while the county works on Phase I of the stadium renovation and improvement project that includes having a new track and scoreboard being installed.
Following the K-PAL athletes, the Rotary Club with Coach Dave Walker hosts the annual Rotary Track Meet at Island School starting at 1 p.m.
As the sun goes down on Good Friday, the Kapaa Missionary Church lights up for its third annual Glow in the Dark Easter Egg event starting at 6:30 p.m. Organizers said there is parking in the old Foodland parking area.
Over at the Kukui Grove Center, the Bunny House enjoys its final opportunity for free photos with the Easter Bunny and Friends on Saturday when the K+M Market sets up from 11 a.m. with about two dozen vendors adding to the Kukui Grove lineup. The monthly movie night will feature an Easter-themed flick with related keiki and family fun.
Sunday morning (yep, it’s Easter!), the West Kauai Lions Club invites anyone who wants to travel west to Kekaha, and West Side Kauai families to its annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Kekaha Ball Park (is that the Faye Park?) across the Kekaha Neighborhood Center. Lots of Easter eggs, free toys, prizes and more from 8:30 a.m.
