KAPAA — There are four Kauai Interscholastic Federation member schools participating in the girls flag football program, and any one of the four has a shot at claiming the Central Pacific Bank KIF championship coming up on Thursday at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Park stadium.
KAPAA — There are four Kauai Interscholastic Federation member schools participating in the girls flag football program, and any one of the four has a shot at claiming the Central Pacific Bank KIF championship coming up on Thursday at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Park stadium.
There will be three games scheduled to play, starting at 4 p.m., 5:15 p.m., and 6:30 p.m.
Following the results of the four games played on Thursday at Hanapepe Stadium, Kauai High School, defeating Island School, 12-6, and defeating Kapaa, 9-6, will open the CPB/KIF outing against Kapaa starting at 4 p.m. Overall through the season that started on April 13, Kauai has amassed a seven-win record.
The winner of this contest advances to the 6:30 p.m. championship round.
Waimea High School finishing last Thursday with a split, beating Kapaa, 28-6 before dropping to Island School, 18-13, will play the second contest against Island School starting at 5:15 p.m. Waimea finished the season with six wins, and Island School has four wins. Kapaa has one win.
The winner of this contest will advance to the final playoff round against the winner of the Kauai/Kapaa encounter. The championship game will start at 6:30 p.m.
