HANALEI AND ANINI – The Department of Water (DOW) reminds customers in the Hanalei community and Anini Beach areas to continue water conservation efforts, due to a mechanical failure on the water system’s pump station that occurred on April 4 and is impacting the system’s water storage supply.
DOW officials are working diligently to acquire the necessary equipment and contractor services to conduct the emergency work, according to a county press release.
Customers are advised to limit water use to essential needs only to avoid a full water service outage. Water conservation measures include turning off appliances and fixtures that automatically draw water such as ice machines and irrigation systems, and refraining from car washing.
