NEW YORK — Nadine Tamayose, manager of the Kauai Wisteria Lane flooring store and the mother of Shawnalei Tamayose, said her daughter just released her book, “Becoming a Real Estate Agent: The Truth You Need to Know,” on March 18.
In her role as an agent, one of the many roles mothers play, Nadine Tamayose said the paperback book and ebook are available through Amazon.
Shawnalei Tamayose is described as a luxury broker, mentor and partner at a boutique real estate brokerage in Soho, New York. She was born and grew up on Kauai, graduating from Kapaa High School.
“She was active at Kapaa High School,” Nadine Tamayose said. “She played sports and won several pageant titles, including Miss Kauai and Miss Leahi during the Miss Hawaii Scholarship Organization pageants. She worked hard and was very busy.”
Fast forward a few years, and Shawnalei Tamayose is now a successful real estate agent.
An overview of the book states that in the dynamic, fast-paced world of real estate, success is more than just selling properties — it is about resilience, strategy and building meaningful relationships.
In “Becoming a Real Estate Agent: The Truth You Need to Know,” Shawnalei Tamayose shares the wisdom, hard-earned lessons and actionable strategies that have helped her thrive in New York City’s ultra-competitive market.
“She combines experience with the tips and advice for succeeding in New York,” Nadine Tamayose said. “Almost everything in the book is a collection of her experiences from being a pageant holder to a person just trying to survive. People must like to be able to connect because the book is selling well.”
Shawnalei Tamayose moved from Kauai to New York City in 2011 where she built a multi-million-dollar career through determination, adaptability and a commitment to core values like humility, integrity and growth. Now, she’s mentoring the next generation of agents by offering a candid look at the industry’s highs, lows and everything in between.
“The purpose of this book is meant to inspire entrepreneurs, females in business, and minorities from non-privileged backgrounds,” said Shawnalei Tamayose. “My personal stories are woven into each chapter to connect with the reader and take then through an in-depth journey of my life that hasn’t been easy. But through the crucible of struggle comes triumph. It gives hope and inspiration for people who aspire to create a better life for themselves.”
The book’s overview says this book guides new agents and aspiring professionals who want to build a lasting, fulfilling career in real estate. From mastering the art of negotiation to navigating rejection, managing finances, and cultivating long-term client relationships, Shawnalei Tamayose equips readers with the tools they need to succeed in an industry that rewards those who never stop learning and striving.
