LIHUE — The Department of Public Works announced that various lane closures will begin this week.
In Poipu, GP Roadway Solutions will close various roads from Monday, March 31, to Friday, April 4, for necessary guardrail repairs and installation. The work is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and conclude at 3:30 p.m.
The following roads will be affected: Ala Kalanikaumaka Street between Koloa Road and Lopaka Paipa Boulevard will be closed from Monday, March 31, to Tuesday. Kinoiki will be closed near Mahaulepu Road from Tuesday to April 3.
Lastly, Lawai Road will be closed near the Poipu Road roundabout, and Hoonani Road will be closed from Thursday to Friday, April 4.
In Eleele, the Department of Public Works Wastewater Management Division announced that lane closures will begin this week.
The contractor, Insituform Technologies, will close portions of Eleele beginning on Monday, March 31, to Friday, April, for necessary sewer maintenance work during the day and pavement striping work through the evening. The construction work is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The closures will affect the intersections of Halewili Road Hue, Hu Road Wai, Alo Road, and Kaumualii Highway.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes and add additional time to reach their destinations. During construction hours, parking will not be allowed in the construction zones. Flaggers will also be positioned in the work zones to direct traffic.
