Walter Don Ines
Walter Don Ines, of Kekaha, passed away on March 11, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born on Dec. 23, 1938, in Waimea, Kauai. He was a retired TSGT with Hawaii Air National Guard 150th AC&W Squadron-Kokee.
He was preceded in death by father Walter Mariano Ines, mother Lydia Medeiros Ines, son Walter D. Ines Jr. and wife Mercedes Ines.
He is survived by sons Damon (Susan) Ines of Kekaha, Darrell (Kerri Fay) Ines of Kekaha/Makawao, daughter Michelle Brun of Waimea, sister Lillian Ines of Ewa Beach, six grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawai. Visitation from 9:30 to 11 a.m., service at 11 a.m. and burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery at 1 p.m. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Arleen Kimiko Marugame
Arleen Kimiko Marugame, 85, passed away on Jan. 29, 2025. She was born on Dec. 9, 1939, in Lihue, Kauai.
She was preceded in death by parents Kiyoshi and Fumiko Sasaki.
She is survived by sons Kent Marugame of Lihue, Keith Marugame of Lihue, daughter Keri (Steven) Moriwaki of Oahu, grandchildren Kalen (Lisa) Carveiro, Casey Marugame, Kainalu Asuncion-Marugame, Kaiulani Asuncion-Marugame, great-grandchildren Miya Carveiro, Riley Carveiro, Skylar Carveiro, sisters Kathleen Sasaki, Pauline (Alex) Nakamura, Caroline (Milton) Ozaki and Lynne Matsumura.
Private services were held.
