How many got to see “Rise of the Wahine” during the Women’s History Month and Title IX? The real University of Hawaii Rainbow Warrior wahine are coming on Kuhio Day (it’s March 26) to play a game against Wisconsin starting at 1 p.m. at the new Kauai High School gym. Doors to the new gym open at noon, and there’s no admission … go early, or what happens when the gym reaches capacity?

Prior to the game, the Rainbow Wahine will be hosting a youth clinic for sixth-grade students. The clinic is unfortunately sold out. It will be held in the former Kauai High School gym from 10 to 11 a.m.
Okay, this is the weekend Mailani celebrates its first anniversary in the old Santa’s Hale space across from Jamba Juice on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.
Toni Torres of the West Kauai Methodist Church said the group did not participate in the Waimea Town Celebration, which meant, no malasadas, no poi balls, no pronto pups, and what else. She said the church group will instead be participating in the St. Theresa’s Carnival that will light up Kekaha on April 25 and 26 from 6 p.m. (need to go early for parking!) to 10 p.m. with the proceeds benefiting the school’s initiatives such as student scholarships, purchase of new equipment, and more.
Other popular food offerings include kiawe chicken, flying saucers, loco moco and others.
Okay, so what about the West Kauai Rotary Club who also was not at the WTC? Miss those Dave Walker pronto pups.
