Are you ready for Malasada on Tuesday? Retired police chief George Freitas (how many Malasada Days have you worked?) and Elizabeth said they will be prepared at the Immaculate Conception Church for the return of Auntie Alice Arruda’s recipe malasadas from 7 to 11 a.m., or until the supply runs out.
It’s hard to figure out who’s got the malasadas… is Kauai Bakery open on that day? How about the bake shop in the Kauai Village? Are they going to be cooking malasada in the parking lot? Passion Bakery has malasadas scheduled for Tuesday, so you can breathe there unless the crowd overwhelms their supply.
And after that, how about Ashes to Go on Ash Wednesday?
Okay, it’s time to check out the Mahelona Healthy Living fair (the head cabbages last year were really good!) and learn some Hawaiian at the Ola Ka ‘I event at the Kukui Grove Center.
