LIHUE — Kauai Police announced that a body was discovered in Hanapepe on Wednesday.
Officers with KPD reported that on Wednesday, the body of a man was found near the Salt Pond Beach Park in Hanapepe. The body was later identified as Henry Aul III, the 61-year-old Wailua man who was reported missing on Feb. 26.
Aul III was reported missing after he was last seen near the Waipouli Town Center in Kapaa on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025. He was also reported as commonly known by the nickname “Hank.”
No foul play is suspected in this investigation; however, an autopsy is pending to determine the cause of his death.
The Kauai Police Department extends its condolences to Henry Aul III’s family and friends during this difficult time.
