LIHUE — Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami will be the special guest at the next Lihue Business Association meeting on Thursday, Feb. 27, held upstairs at Duke’s Restaurant.

Do you have a question that you would want Mayor Kawakami to give you an answer?

This meeting is a perfect opportunity for individuals, both residents and visitors, to ask the mayor via the Lihue Business Association email at info@lihuebusinessassociation.com.

For those wanting to ask the mayor in person, the meeting runs from 7:30 to 9 a.m., with 7:30 to 8 a.m. set aside for networking and the meeting from 8 to 9 a.m.

The meeting is free and open to the public.

The Lihue Business Association was formed in 2006 by several people who had served on the Citizens Advisory Committee for the county’s Lihue Town Core Urban Design Plan. The group, along with others interested in wise planning efforts for Kauai, started holding free monthly programs to educate themselves and others about the components of a vibrant community.
