LIHUE — Kauai High School boys basketball, the Central Pacific Bank Kauai Interscholastic Federation champions, will start its bid for the Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division II state championships on Wednesday on Oahu.
LIHUE — Kauai High School boys basketball, the Central Pacific Bank Kauai Interscholastic Federation champions, will start its bid for the Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division II state championships on Wednesday on Oahu.
After securing the No. 2 seed in Division II from the HHSAA, the Red Raiders will take the floor during the Division II quarterfinals against the unseeded Hawaii Preparatory Academy at Kalani High School in Honolulu. Tip-off time is 7 p.m.
If successful, Kauai will advance to the semifinals against the winner of the No. 3 seed Aiea and unseeded Le Jardin Academy. The Division II championship match is scheduled for Friday at the Stan Sheriff Center starting at 5 p.m.
In an HHSAA announcement on Sunday, Seabury Hall earned the top seed in Division II and will face unseeded Kaiser High School on Wednesday.
Kohala High School of the Big Island Interscholastic Federation earned the No. 4 seed and will tip off on Wednesday against No. 5 seed Damien Memorial High School.
In Division I play that started on Monday, Saint Louis earned the top seed in that bracket and will open play on Wednesday during the quarterfinals of that bracket.
Kailua High School is the Div. I No. 2 seed, and Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii is the No. 3 seed. Baldwin High School of the Maui Interscholastic League is the No. 4 seed.
