Flora Campos Kahaunaele
Flora Campos Kahaunaele, of Kapaa, born on Aug. 17, 1931, passed away peacefully on Jan. 13, 2025, at the age of 93. She attended McKinley High School, later graduating from Kapaa High School. She worked for Coco Palms and retired after Hurricane Iniki. She was an avid fan watching her family play baseball, never missing a chance to cheer them on from the sidelines. Flora enjoyed spending time playing cards with friends, traveling to Las Vegas and she was an enthusiastic bowler at Kauai Bowl. Flora was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunty and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Flora was preceded in death by her devoted companion Paul Miyamoto, the father of her children Joseph Kahaunaele Sr., mother Consuelo Apiado, father Francisco Campos, son Alan Kahaunaele, brother Felix Campos, sisters Dalmacia Campos Sibolboro, Rosenda Ancheta, great-grandchildren Chloe and Tayton.
Her legacy lives on through her surviving children, daughters Pamela Domingo (Sonny), Corina Kimura (Karl), sons Joseph Kahaunaele Jr., Jonathon Kahaunaele (Sharleen), hanai daughter Gloria Sibolboro, grandchildren Chasitee Kimura (Shannon Masada), Karl “KK” Kimura, Kori Moniz (Weston), Kaohi Kahaunaele-Contrades, Shasteen Kahaunaele (Devin Marquez), Alan Kahaunaele, Tiffany Suliven (Makaio Kaaumoana), 11 great-grandchildren who brought her much joy and love, numerous nieces and nephews.
Flora’s life was defined by her deep love for family, unwavering strength, and selflessness. She cherished spending time with her loved ones, and her memory will forever be held close in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
In respect to her wishes, the family will hold private services.

Justino Agno Ganutisi
Justino Agno Ganutisi, of Lihue, passed away on Jan. 1, 2025, at the age of 70. He was born on July 18, 1954, in the Philippines, and worked as an Irrigation Maintenance at ITC Water Management.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lorenzo and Teodora Ganotisi, brothers Marcelino Ganotisi and Viktor Ganotisi.
Justino is survived by his loving wife Ursula Ganutisi, sons Richard (Jennifer) Ganotisi, Joey Gano, daughters Brenda (Darwin) Samson, Mary Jane (Jefferson) Elaydo, Liezel (Jayce) Villaruel, brother Antonio Ganotisi, sisters Pacita (Demetrio) Asuncion, Clarina (Conrado) Tanaliga, Elidia Ganotisi, Marietta (Pancho) Baldonado, grandchildren Briana, Jett, Jon, Chadler, Sofia, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Church. Viewing will begin at 8 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m., and burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Norman Akita
Norman Akita, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and public servant, passed away on Dec. 17, 2024, at 91 years old. Born and raised in Kekaha, Kauai, Norman graduated from Waimea High School and went on to Bringham Young University and ultimately received a master’s in social work at the University of Hawaii Manoa. He was a social worker on Oahu and returned to Kauai to serve as the Administrator of the Department of Social Services. He retired and joined the family business at Akita Enterprises, Ltd. From there his passion for public service led him to serve as a council member on Kauai. He was always a proud member of the Lions Club. In his retirement from Akita Enterprises he enjoyed golfing and traveling with his wife Shirley.
Norman is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley (Takeshiro) Akita, sister Alice Zenger, son Norman Akita Jr. (Lien Ly), daughter Tamara “Mara” Toner (Paul), grandchildren Brenden Akita, Faryn Akita, Hali‘a Toner, Maggie Brackett (Gary), Callie Weymouth (Ryder), great-grandson Bond Weymouth and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at Puakea Grill on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at 1 p.m.
June Jobson O’Donoghue
June Jobson O’Donoghue, of Kalaheo, passed away at home on Jan. 16, 2025, at the age of 98. She was born in Ireland on June 3, 1926. She took much pride in her work as a presser at the dry cleaners. She was a treasured member of the Kalaheo Missionary Church’s Kupuna program.
Preceded in death by husband James O’Donoghue, mother Maria Jobson, father Alfred Cranston, sisters Patricia Farr and Eileen Gray.
She is survived by daughters Theresa Satchell, Maureen (Charlie) Hiramoto, sons Kevin (Terry) O’Donoghue, Steven O’Donoghue, grandchildren Aaron (Katie) Parongao, Brandon Parongao, Reuben (Lorriane) Parongao Jr., Christie Parongao, Tiana (Will) Litvin, Shannon Hiramoto, Calen Hiramoto, Kitty O’Donoghue, Kelly (Tyler) O’Donoghue, Danny O’Donoghue, DeJay O’Donoghue, Steven (Maegan) Fontana, great-grandchildren Makena Parongao, Cassie Parongao, Levi Parongao, Remi Parongao, Isaac Parongao, Keawe (Talia) Parongao, Makalea Parongao, Ava Parongao, Kobe Parongao, Chaisen Armitage, Saida Armitage, Ella Litvin, Benjamin Litvin, Charli Hiramoto-Rude, Savanna O’Donoghue, Dixie O’Donoghue, Harley O’Donoghue, Masao Fontana, Kotoku Fontana and nephew Aubrey Gray.
