Dianne Pearl Mikami
Dianne Pearl Mikami, of Kapaa, left this world on Dec. 9, 2024, peacefully in her sleep. Born and raised in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania, in 1939.
In 1957, she enlisted in the U.S. Army WAC Division, were she served in the Chemical Warfare Engineer Department in Germany and Fort Dix, New Jersey. In 1959, while serving in the Military, she was crowned Ms. World Fort Dix. After a short stint in the Army, Dianne moved to Hawaii with her husband and father of her three baby girls, Stanley Seigel. Upon arriving in Hawaii, she loved it so much she stayed and never left.
During her early years in Hawaii, Dianne made a career working in radio advertising for Waipahu’s Country Radio Station, KAHU Radio. The early 70s found her falling in love with a local boy, Russell Mikami, whom she married, and they raised their beautiful daughters among many family and friends in Waipahu, Hawaii. In the late 70s, she found her calling working as a dispatcher for the Honolulu Police Department. After her girls were grown, her next chapter in her life brought her to Kauai. She helped establish Kong Radio Station and then became a major role in FM97. Dianne was responsible for many FM97 radio contests including creating FM97’s Catch a Rising Star, FM97’s Super Bowl Party, and everyone’s favorite FM97’s Halloween Party.
Unfortunately, the years caught up with her, and she took an early retirement in both her job and her life.
Preceded in death by mother Mary Ellen and father Simon Reeds.
Dianne left behind three daughters Marty Jean (Guy) Fukushima of Waipahu, Hawaii, Michelle Emily Mikami of Kapaa, Hawaii, Dorothy “Didi” (Michael) Gordon of Lawai, Hawaii, nine grandchildren Russ Fukushima, Ric Fukushima, Amanda Sarono, Ashley Mikami, Mikeal Mikami, Ward Mikami, Cody Mikami, David Elms, Kiana Esaki, 18 great-grandchildren and brother Steven (Shirley) Reynolds of Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, who will carry on her memories.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, beginning at 10 a.m. at Ohana Fellowship Kapaa, behind the Kapaa Fire Station, then around 1 p.m., join family and friends at Fuji Beach to scatter her ashes.

June Jobson O’Donoghue
June Jobson O’Donoghue, of Kalaheo, passed away at home on Jan. 16, 2025, at the age of 98. She was born in Ireland on June 3, 1926. She took much pride in her work as a presser at the dry cleaners. She was a treasured member of the Kalaheo Missionary Church’s Kupuna program.
Preceded in death by husband James O’Donoghue, mother Maria Jobson, father Alfred Cranston, sisters Patricia Farr and Eileen Gray.
She is survived by daughters Theresa Satchell, Maureen (Charlie) Hiramoto, sons Kevin O’Donoghue, Steven O’Donoghue, grandchildren Aaron (Katie) Parongao, Brandon Parongao, Reuben (Lorriane) Parongao Jr., Christie Parongao, Tiana (Will) Litvin, Shannon Hiramoto, Calen Hiramoto, Kitty O’Donoghue, Kelly O’Donoghue, Danny O’Donoghue, DeJay O’Donoghue, Steven (Maegan) Fontana, great-grandchildren Makena Parongao, Cassie Parongao, Levi Parongao, Remi Parongao, Isaac Parongao, Keave Parongao, Makalea Parongao, Ava Parongao, Kobe Parongao, Chaisen Parongao, Saida Parongao, Ella Litvin, Benjamin Litvin, Savanna O’Donoghue, Dixie O’Donoghue, Harley O’Donoghue, Masao Fontana, Kotoku Fontana and nephew Aubrey Gray.

Sherry Hashimoto
Sherry Hashimoto, of Hanapepe, passed away on Jan. 13, 2025, at the age of 55. She was born on Dec. 18, 1969, on Kauai. She was a unit clerk at Kauai Medical Group.
She was preceded in death by her mother Antonette Komaki, grandmother Louise Kaiama-Komaki, brother Bruce Kali, uncle Chuck Komaki and aunty Loraine Komaki-Kali.
She is survived by her son Brandon Hashimoto of Hanapepe, sisters Christie (Nimilote) Moli of Utah, Christie (Bernard) Purisima of Kalaheo, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held at a later date.

Christine Plamp
Christine Plamp, of Lihue, passed away on Dec. 20, 2024, at the age of 88. She was born in Leisnitz, Upper Silesia, Germany, on April 29, 1936, and worked as an account clerk for All State Insurance Company.
Christine was preceded in passing by her beloved husband Wolfgang Plamp and her parents Eduard and Marie Sacher.
Private services to be held. The family requests no koden (monetary gifts).

Frank Cecilio Nadarisay Sr.
Frank Cecilio Nadarisay Sr., 78, of Puhi, passed away on Jan. 5, 2025, in Lihue. He was born on Nov. 17, 1946, in Lihue. He served 2 tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Army and retired after 42 years of service with the County of Kauai Engineering Department.
He was preceded in death by parents Cecilio and Hertrodis Nadarisay, brothers Raymond Villatora, Victorino Villatora, Benardo Nadarisay, sisters Gregoria Caberto and Mercedes Ines.
He is survived by wife Colleen Chow Nadarisay, son Frank Cecilio Nadarisay Jr., daughters Lisa (Daniel) Rapozo, Lea (Darwin “Zoom”) Bukoski, grandchildren Kaiwi Nadarisay-Bejo, Jaime “Kaimi” Gonzalez, Wailana Bukoski, Kainalu Nadarisay, Darwin “Haka” Bukoski, Kainoa Rapozo, great-granddaughter Anuhea Nadarisay-Bejo, brothers Benny (Marina) Villatora, Antonio (Candace) Nadarisay, sisters Diane Vierra, Florencia Alviar, Julie Lopez, Delores Alimboyogen, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at Garden Island Mortuary. Viewing begins at 9 a.m., service at 10:30 a.m., and burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Shirley Anne Douglass
Shirley Douglass, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully in Lihue on Jan. 9, 2025, at the age of 89, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in San Francisco, Shirley graduated from Galileo High School, and then married her childhood sweetheart, Paul T. Douglass. Paul’s Navy service and long career with Matson Navigation Company took them to Korea, Japan, Portland, and back to San Francisco. When Matson transferred them to Hawaii in 1967, they found their forever home on the islands. Over the years, they lived on Oahu, Maui, the Big Island, Guam, and Kauai.
In addition to raising their five children, Shirley was an active and dedicated partner in Paul’s community service efforts. She worked for Macy’s (San Francisco), Mobil Oil (Guam), and later, many Kauai residents will remember her as the warm and welcoming face at Borders Books and Waldenbooks.
Shirley is survived by her children Susan Douglass of Hilo, Stephen Douglass of Las Vegas, David Douglass of Clarksville, Tennessee, Sharon Mayo of Mill Valley, California, and devoted caregiver Scott of Lihue, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two sisters, and a brother.
Shirley’s kindness, infectious laugh, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to Kauai Hospice or the Wilcox Hospital Foundation.
Linda Kelekoma
Linda Kelekoma, of Anahola, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 3, 2025, at the age of 77. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Jan. 19, 1947, and retired from the Hawaii State Department of Education.
Linda was preceded in passing by her beloved husband and soul mate Ainsley Kelekoma, parents John and Alice (nee Remle) Luther, brother-in-law David E. Wilson, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Luella “Tida” and Gilbert Moniz Sr, Darlene and Al Oshiro, brothers-in-law Franklin “Sonny” Kelekoma, Alexander “Alika” Kelekoma and sister-in-law Leonora Kelekoma.
She is survived by sons Kalen (Sorrel Weiss) Kelekoma and John (Jillian) Kelekoma, grandchildren Keanna Woodward, Olivia Kelekoma, Keola, Mana, and Jasmine Kelekoma, sister Ardeth Wilson, brothers-in-law Clay Kelekoma Sr., David (Chris) Kelekoma, sisters-in-law Tomie Kelekoma, Molly Kuhaulua, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Known for her radiant spirit, generosity, and love of all things sparkly, Linda brought joy and kindness to everyone she met. Linda’s life was a celebration of love, faith, and selflessness. Her memory will shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her, and we find comfort knowing she and Ainsley are dancing together again in Heaven.
Services will be held on Feb. 1, 2025, at Kapaa Missionary Church. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by the service.
Ernest Simon Silva Jr.
Ernest Simon Silva Jr., of Kekaha, passed away at home on Dec. 16, 2024, at the age of 73. He was born on Aug. 8, 1951, at Wilcox Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest Silva Sr., Mildred Silva, brother Lloyd Silva, daughter Ernette Silva and sister Geraldine Silva.
He is survived by his wife Brenda Silva, sons Ernest Silva III, Ezra John Silva, Eldred Benton (Ciara) Silva, grandchildren Anela, Keao, Makana, Iwalani and sister Rosalie (Moki) Nitta.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, at the Waimea Neighborhood Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The family suggests casual attire and welcomes flowers.
