LIHUE — A seminar specifically designed to help Kauai’s kupuna recognize scams and fraud is set to begin in February.

The County of Kauai Agency on Elderly Affairs will host a presentation along with Kupuna Alert Partners aimed at Fraud and Scam Prevention on Feb. 12 at 9:30 a.m. at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.

The seminar will discuss information on Medicare and securities fraud prevention along with prescription drug misuse. The multi-agency partners will also include provide tips on scams and how to prevent from becoming a victim.

Walk-in registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. However, to ensure program materials and refreshments, it is recommended to pre-register by calling the AEA office at 808-241-4470 or by emailing elderlyaffairs@kauai.gov.
