Mayette Loseto (that cacao bean at the Grove Farm Market looked really cool) told curious visitors that you can give cacao (not chocolate, yet) to young people if you want to see them go crazy (like sugar rush kine). The Grove Farm Market was a perfect stopping point between the Kauai Interscholastic Federation qualifying swim meet (it was a bit chilly), and the KIF paddling regatta at the Wailua River since KIF wrestling was being held at the Clem Gomes Gym in Waimea.

The Grove Farm Market will be adding its craft fair component on the first Saturday of February, and in light of the Grove Farm cesspool project, Grove Farm has asked permission from the Kauai Community College to use the college’s front parking lot next to Kaumualii Highway for parking.
This is good news for Rudy Sina and the Master Gardeners program who plan to have grafters and air layering professionals talk and demonstrate techniques during the craft fair component that, according to the calendar, is on Feb. 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Dean Nonaka of Nonaka Farm said Saturday was a good day to check out Kauai Senior Softball since the teams were playing at the Peter Rayno Park in Hanamaulu, and Dean was planning on playing in one of the games following the Grove Farm Market.
Today is Happy Birthday to Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and the Interfaith Roundtable of Kauai will celebrate at the Kauai Soto Zen Temple from 1 p.m. where everyone is welcome to come and participate in their service project (the holiday is known as the Make A Difference Day) of creating first-aid kits that will be distributed to the Kauai Fire Department, Child and Family Service Nana’s House, Hale Hoomalu, and the county’s Transportation Agency for drivers of The Kauai Bus to use to enable people with wounds to be able to ride the public transportation system buses.
