Jeff Allen McDonald
Jeff Allen McDonald, of Kapaa, passed away on Dec. 28, 2024, at the age of 63. He was born on Dec. 7, 1961, in San Franciso, California, and worked at Kaiser Permanente as a Union Arbitrator.
He was preceded in passing by his parents Dean and Nobuko McDonald.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Kimberley McDonald and his two sons Alex McDonald and Max McDonald.
A Celebration of Life will be announced in the future.

Robert Dale Appleby
Robert “Bob” Appleby, 66, of Kalaheo, passed away on Jan. 13, 2023. Born on March 13, 1956, in Roxana, Illinois. He moved to Kauai in 1981. He worked as a supervisor at BZ Building, Inc. for nearly 10 years before becoming a licensed General and Solar Contractor as the owner of Appleby Construction in 1994. He enjoyed windsurfing, diving, fishing and being in nature during his spare time. Most importantly, spending time with his family and supporting his grandchildren at their numerous sporting events.
He was preceded in death by his brother Kevin “Drew” Appleby, his mother and stepfather, Virginia (Ronnie) Burns, who both passed in 2024.
He is survived by his wife Tammy Appleby, daughters April (Joe) Nakato, Christina Appleby, Katie (Kawika) Holi-Kunishige, grandchildren Caelen Nakato, Caelee Nakato, Teia Niau, father Dale (Shelvie) Appleby, sisters Sheri Appleby, Debbi Appleby, Lori (Larry) Chilton, Mari Crayne, Gwendolyn Corgan, brothers David (Debbie) Burns, Charles Burkam, Jay (Debbie) England, uncles Robert H. Appleby, Jack Hollingsworth, numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Jan. 26, 2025, at Warehouse 3540 in Lawai from 2 to 4 p.m.
Ramona Mier Nakaahiki
It is with deep love and gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Ramona Mier Nakaahiki. Ramona, of Kekaha, returned to our Heavenly father on Dec. 4, 2024, at the age of 92. She was born on Aug. 31, 1932, in Eleele, Kauai, Hawaii. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as well as a beloved community member at the Kekaha Senior Center.
She is joined in heaven by parents Macario and Perpetua Mier, husband James K. Nakaahiki Jr., son Radford Nakaahiki, daughter-in-law Susan Kay Nakaahiki, son-in-law Merrell Cardejon, brothers Michael Mier, Joe Mier, Sam Mier, sisters Annie Lee and Beatrice Whitney.
She is survived by her children James (Gail) Nakaahiki III, Gweneth Cardejon, Romayne “Lani” (Tommy) Matsuyoshi, Weylene (Michael) Santos, Melanie (Chris) Okamoto, sister Caroline “Lori” Bigno, 16 grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Kekaha Ward. Visitation begins at 9 a.m., followed by service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery.
Frank Paul Taitague Jr.
Frank Paul Taitague Jr., 46, of Lihue, passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Jan. 3, 2025. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Feb. 2, 1978, and was an employee at Dominoes for the past 5 years.
He is survived by his grandparents Francisco and Eloisa Taitague, parents Danette “Kuulei” Taitague and Frank Taitague Sr., significant other Marie Jo Aguzar, son Paul Marcus Aguzar-Taitague, daughters Alma Mhae (Jordan) Aguzar Serrano, Esther Joyce Aguzar-Taitague, sister Kristin (Kevin) Larson and niece.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Church. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. and services to follow at 10 a.m.
