KAPAA — Tree trimming and removal activities are scheduled to disrupt certain areas of Kapaa this week.
The Department of Public Works, in collaboration with its contractor, Cutting-Edge Land Clearing Solutions, has announced that there will be multiple lane closures in Kapaa due to scheduled tree trimming and removal activities along the roadway.
The clean-up is scheduled to commence at 8 a.m. on Tuesday and will involve a complete closure along a section of Kaehulua Road, in the vicinity of Kawaihau Road. The work is anticipated to conclude Wednesday at 4 p.m.
On Thursday, tree trimming and removal will transition to portions of Opaekaa Road, between Puupilo and Makana roads. The contractor will implement the lane closures from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with intermittent full road closures lasting 15 to 30 minutes throughout the workday.
These changes will take place between Puupilo and Makana roads with the work scheduled to be completed on Friday.
All work is weather permitting, motorists are advised to make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the lane closures, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations. During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will be positioned at the work zone to direct traffic.
