Isaiah Dosono of Kauai Kim Chee (Ferdinand got to cruise following their sold-out performance at the Grove Farm Market) was ready with their pizza offering, and Helena Camat (she was also working the Grove Farm Market earlier in the day) had her tent set up at the First Hawaiian Church.
The First Saturday event was a perfect stopping-off point before heading to the Kauai Interscholastic Federation boys basketball games being played at the Bernice Hundley Gym where Waimea High School Athletic Director Dino Pabre was among the corps of Menehune supporters.
Cynthia Chiang, visiting from California after leaving more than three years ago, said she prefers when everything at the Saturday farmers market was at the Kauai Community College where Dirk Soma had his marketing students selling coffee … shoppers to the Grove Farm Market and theater patrons to the Puhi Theatrical Warehouse facility have to deal with the sewer conversion project that had Market Manager Marlene Duarte chasing down confused drivers in the overflow parking area.
