ANAHOLA — Kauai firefighters and partners successfully extinguished a brush fire that sparked in Anahola on Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters with the Kapaa, Kaiakea and Lihue fire stations were dispatched to Anahola near Ehukai Road a little after 12:25 p.m. with assistance from the Kauai Police Department.
As a precaution, officers closed and evacuated portions of Ehukai Road, between Pilipoli Road and Holoikalapa Street.
The Kauai Emergency Management Agency, Tender 1, the Department of Public Works and Air 1 helicopter, along with the on-duty Battalion Chief also responded to the emergency call and doused the area for any further potential hotspots while the fire moved along the coastline.
Fire crews successfully extinguished the blaze at around 3:15 p.m., and estimated the fire to be fewer than 10 acres. No damages or injuries were reported.
