LIHUE — Starting Friday, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, Life’s Choices program will be accepting proposals for Adult and Adolescent Mental Health, and Substance Abuse Community Program Grants for Fiscal Year 2024-25, Prosecuting Attorney Rebecca Like said on Thursday.
“This year, priority consideration will be given to programs serving adolescents and young adults on Kauai,” Like said. “Evidence continues to show that engaging youth in pro-social activities leads to better outcomes as adults. If your organization serves youth and is a qualifying nonprofit, we encourage you to apply.”

Completed applications will only by accepted via email at opagrants@kauai.gov. All applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Feb. 14.
Applications will not be accepted by postal mail, email, fax or in-person delivery. Proposals received following the Feb. 14 deadline will not be considered.
Applicants will be notified of funding decisions during the week of Feb. 24. Project funding will be available from March 15, 2025, through March 14, 2026.
Eligible proposals include community programs that provide pro-social activities, clinical mental health and/or substance abuse treatment and services.
Eligible programs will focus on expanding and improving accessibility to clinical treatment services for adolescents and/or adults, providing certified substance abuse counseling using evidence-based practices, and facilitating collaboration with community agencies and groups to create a continuum of care.
A total of $1,000,000 in grant funding is available.
