LUHUE — Lane closures along portions of Hulemalu Road in Lihue began to take place this week.
The Department of Public Works and its contractor GP Roadway Solutions announced that portions of Hulemalu Road are scheduled to close for about three weeks to allow for guardrail repairs and installation.
The repairs along with the road closures took effect on Monday and are scheduled to be completed on Jan. 17. Work crews will be on-site weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Officials suggest making appropriate arrangements to accommodate the road disruptions and allow extra time for their commute.
During the closure, flaggers will be positioned at the work zones to direct traffic, and there will be no parking allowed.
