There’re two days remaining for this year’s edition of Mele Makeke that’s set up in the former Macy’s Mens. Mele Makeke is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and its final day on Sunday will have the doors shutting at 6 p.m.
One of the ornaments, a snowman, developed legs and disappeared from its perch atop the Norfolk pine set up in the lobby of the state building. If discovered wandering around, please return to the governor’s liaison office so others can enjoy it during the future.
It’s still Winter Break so the Kauai Interscholastic Federation high school sports are on a diminished schedule.
Congratulations to Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School Vice Principal Merrill Carvalho who coordinated an intramural basketball tournament with Waimea Canyon Middle School. Coach Merrill said the CKMS hoopsters ended up winning the four tournament trophies: Grade 6 Boys, Grade 6 Girls, Grades 7-8 Boys, and Grades 7-8 Girls!
Elliott Lucas and the Kauai Film Academy are hosting the movie premiere of “Too Much Life” on Saturday starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Kauai Community Performing Arts Center with tickets available at the door.
And, the final showing of the Holiday Light Spectacular plays from 7 p.m. on Saturday in front of Jamba Juice and Starbucks. The free showing offers seating and viewing from the parking lot and entrance to Kukui Grove Center.
