LIHUE – The County of Kauai’s Housing Agency is now requesting proposals for Homeless Program Grants.
The Request for Proposals can be found on the Homeless Support webpage, https://tgilinks.com/4gQqpv7.
Applications must be submitted in pdf format via email to homelessprogramgrants@kauai.gov. Applications will not be accepted by mail or fax. Applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 31. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered.
Applicants will be notified of funding during the week of Feb. 15. The project funding period will be March 1, 2025, to Feb. 28, 2026.
The intent of this grant program is to provide critical services to those who are currently experiencing homelessness. The principal guiding framework of the request is taken from the community engagement sessions for the Five Year Homeless Strategic Plan held earlier this year. Priority will be given to proposals that provide the greatest impact while demonstrating fiscal soundness and stability.
The Kauai County Housing Agency will be hosting an informational webinar on Thursday and Jan. 6 at 10 a.m. The webinar will provide an overview of the Request for Proposals and the application selection criteria. There will also be an open question and answer period via email.
Questions will be accepted up until Jan. 15. Answers will be posted, along with the questions in the Request for Proposals online. Applicants may visit the Homeless Support webpage stated above for more information, to access the Request for Proposals, and view questions and answers.
If you need an auxiliary aid/service, or other accommodation due to a disability, contact Farah Aquino at faquino@kauai.gov or 808-241-4427 no later than Jan. 7.
Questions about the grant program can be emailed to homelessprogramgrants@kauai.gov by 4 p.m. Jan. 15.
