LIHUE — Beauty Blossoms Salon held its maile-untying blessing Saturday to officially open its doors.
Isley Ulanday, owner of Beauty Blossoms Salon, explained how special it is to be back on Kauai and see her hard work and passion come to life during the grand opening of her salon on Dec. 21.
“I attended Aveda Institute in Avondale, Arizona, and graduated as the class valedictorian in August 2023,” said Ulanday. “I continued my experience at Lilyjoy Salon before moving back home to Kauai.”
“This grand opening is incredibly special, witnessing my vision come to life is truly a blessing,” she said. “It wasn’t about opening a business, but about creating a space that will not only positively impact our community but also to be a leader in environmental responsibility and leadership, not just in the beauty industry but globally.”
Ulanday continued, “Aveda products are vegan and are made with natural, plant-based ingredients and are free of synthetic ingredients. I am very fortunate to have family and friends that helped me through this entire process. I will forever be grateful.”
During the celebration, 21-year-old Ulanday was surrounded by friends and family who expressed so much joy to watch Ulanday’s hard work coming to fruition.
”I am very excited and very proud,” said her mother, Ashley Ulanday, owner of Paradise Grinds. “It was a process and we are just hoping for the best and hope they are all successful including, esthetician Tori Simon, and nail therapist Xavier Lasconia. I want her business to grow and continue spreading Aveda’s mission so, come check them out, they’ll take care of you.”
The young entrepreneur said she brings a new vision to the island, and as an Aveda stylist, her modern methods and innovative new techniques along with attention to detail are at her highest expertise. She welcomed everyone in the community to stop by and connect with her.
