How does a beekeeper and free dental services connect?
Bronson Pactanac of Bees and Teas (he was working on Sunday at The Beach House restaurant monthly craft fair) has siblings who are in dental healthcare. Bronson is coordinating free dental care for everyone with the support of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, both Lawai and Kapaa locations, and Island Comfort on Rice Street (the former Toyota shop).
Dental service will be on a first come, first served basis on Friday, Sunday and Monday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on each date at the Island Comfort. Dental care will be provided by dental professionals from Kauai, Oahu, Washington state and California.
Bronson said of special note is Dec. 22 when keiki and young people care will be highlighted with appropriate dental care professionals and pediatric dentists.
Inspired to do community service, Bronson said he was motivated to get the dental healthcare professionals together after seeing the popularity of dentists and dental care during the Tropic Care Kauai Instant Readiness Training tours.
Melissa McFerrin Warrack and Kristyn Ishibashi Peralta of Bubbah’s Toy Box (they’ve got Bumper Cars going at Mele Makeke) are trying to figure another entrance to the Mele Makake set up in the former Macy’s Mens location. In a final push for Christmas shopping, Mele Makeke will be open for five straight days starting Thursday. Mele Makeke is also planning on adding a host of off-island, including the Big Island, vendors to the regular offering of 28 local vendors.
