Outrigger is where the Holly Jolly opens on Saturday … hmm, how is the Christmas decorating coming along, Robert Ancheta?
Before that, Retired Gen.Mary Kay Hertog of the Kauai Veterans Council said the first 200 veterans’ vehicles will be treated to Christmas stockings with treats and medium-sized wrapped gift bags and boxes of food, toiletries, handwritten cards and hugs courtesy of the Garden Island Orchid Society, and Connecting Consciousness through their Drive by Gifting. The drive-by is on Dec. 11, starting at 10 a.m. at the Kauai Veterans Center.
And Saturday is the December craft fair component of The Grove Farm Market where nearly 50 vendors are scheduled to show their wares from 9:30 a.m. The Master Gardeners (they’re weekly vendors) will be talking about fertilizers with Yawadee Srimake-Yadao, a University of Hawaii graduate with a doctorate degree in Tropical Plant and Soil Science. They’ll also have samples and a display of fertilizers and their uses, and the appropriate uses of the different plants.
And, don’t forget Friday with the Kauai Museum Christmas Craft Fair, and the Lights on Rice holiday lights parade.
