The third time for aurora borealis is a charm for Bev Pang who will miss the Smash-burgers being prepared by the Kauai Community College Culinary Arts program at the Pau Hana Market (it starts at 3 p.m. at the Kukui Grove parking lot across from Costco).

Laurie Ho said the Smash-burger will be using locally produced ground beef from the Maluhia Cattle Company, and the lettuce and tomatoes will be purchased from the Pau Hana Market vendors.
Kudos to Mele Makeke organizers on creating a great holiday shopping venue for the holidays by combining with Elizabeth Freeman and the Festival of Lights at the former Macy’s Mens (it’s really hard not to listen to all those Macy’s ads on the syndicated radio shows).
We get to see the Robert Ancheta Christmas magic this week when the Holly Jolly holiday fair opens at the Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
That’s the same day as the Grove Farm Market holiday fair with nearly 50 vendors joining the regular Saturday market lineup (hmm, will they let Wicked Brew park overnight after the Lights on Rice holiday light parade so he can be right there for the market?). Rudy Sina of the Master Gardeners invites everyone to come meet Yawadee Srimake-Yadao to come talk about their house plants. Rudy said there will be a display of the different types of fertilizers.
And, don’t forget the Kauai Museum annual Christmas Craft Fair, and the Lights on Rice holiday parade on Friday.
