Nora Akie Masuda
Nora Akie Masuda passed away on Sept. 27, 2024, at Straub Medical Center at the age of 82. She was born on Kauai on Oct. 19, 1941. She retired as a secretary from the County of Kauai, Civil Defense.
She was preceded in death by parents Hatsuki and Shizue Nakata and brother-in-law Dennis Vasconcelles.
She is survived by daughter Leanne (Patrick) Rosa, son Kyle Masuda, sisters Katherine (Dennis) Vasconcelles, Gloria (Richard) Kusumoto, Karen (Gary) Miyahara, Joy Nakata-Muranaka, grandchildren Branden Orsatelli, Shaylece Masuda, Shayna, Shyann and Shalene Rosa, Kyle Jr., Kysen, Kyndall, Kia‘iamalama, Kyndrick and Kaikea Masuda, great-grandchildren Lashya Masuda, Gunner Igne, Khloe Orsatelli, Sanira Igne, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may visit on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, at The Church at Koloa. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. with services to follow at 10 a.m.
Domingo Aguinaldo
Domingo Aguinaldo, of Kaumakani, passed away on Oct. 31, 2024, at home at the age of 85. He was born on Oct. 1, 1939, on Kauai. He was a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his father Juan Aguinaldo, mother Generosa Aguinaldo, brothers Amado Aguinaldo, Jackie Aguinaldo and Faustino Aguinaldo.
He is survived by his daughters Crystal Lee Aguinaldo (Ed Yamase) of Waimea, Angela Prigge (Brandon Frasco) of Kaumakani, two grandchildren, sisters Marina (Benny) Villatora of Puhi, Julia (Andy) Tambua of Wailua, Carol Rita of Eleele, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawai. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m., followed by a celebration of life. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Robert Jay Raposas, 59, of Eleele, passed away on Nov. 5, 2024, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital. He was born in Hawaii on June 19, 1965. He was an irrigator at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa.
He was preceded in death by parents Jose and Yon U. Raposas, grandparents Cirilo and Rosalina Raposas.
Robert is survived by wife Jeanne Raposas, sons Kainoa (Shayna Moore) Raposas, Bryson (Aiko Grande) Cadawas, Stetson (Nanea Wilson) Raposas, daughter Sheena Raposas, sisters Teressa (Derwin Nohara) Iida, Shelley (Kamaka) Contrades, 10 grandchildren, numerous uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. followed by service at 10 a.m.

Kenneth T. Shibao
Kenneth T. Shibao, 83, of Kauai and Honolulu, died in Honolulu on Aug. 22, 2024. He was born on Kauai, Hawaii.
He is survived by his wife Patsy, daughters Cindy Oshiro (Dean), Dr. Stacie Shibao (Dr. Brock Kaya), four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sisters May Tsuhako, June Woodall and nieces.
Private services were held.
