LAWAI — The Department of Public Works (DPW) announced a scheduled closure of Akemama Road on Friday.
DPW and contractor, Maui Kupono Builders have scheduled a full closure of Akemama Road in Lawai for the upcoming weekend from Nov. 15-18.
The closure will begin at 8 a.m. and conclude at 3:30 p.m. for road surfacing work, weather permitting.
There will also be no parking allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic.
Local residents will be allowed limited access through the closure and are warned of long wait lines and are encouraged to make early arrangements to allow extra time.
