LIHUE — A holiday-shortened schedule will lead to less road work on the island of Kauai in the days ahead, according to an update from the Hawaii Department of Transportation on Friday.
The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending Nov. 15. All work is weather related.
Eleele
A right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for tree trimming, between mile post 13.5 to 14.5, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Nov. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Hanalei
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction, between mile post 4.19 to 6.36, in the vicinity of Ananalu Road on Wednesday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of new Hawaiian Telcom poles.
Kalaheo
A right lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) is possible in either direction for guardrail repairs, between mile post 0 to 3.83, in the vicinity of Kaumualii Highway, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Nov. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kalihiwai
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for cutting grass, between mile post 23.8 to 25, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Nov. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kekaha
A right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for replacement of culverts, between mile post 24.37 to 24.46, in the vicinity of Kikiaola Boat Harbor, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Kokee
A single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) is possible in either direction for restriping the crosswalk, between mile post .1 to .15, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Nov. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) is possible in either direction for repaving work, between mile post 11.5 to 14, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Nov. 15, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Lawai
A right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for guardrail repair, between mile post 9 to 10, in the vicinity of Upa Road and Akemama Road, on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Princeville
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in either direction for drain line and storm manhole installations, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Nov. 15, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible for clearing inlets, outlets and guardrails in either direction, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Papio Place, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Nov. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Waikoko
An intermittent full closure for 5-10 minutes at a time, on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in both directions for slope material removal as part of the emergency Waikoko slope stabilization project, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahai Beach, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Nov. 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Waimea
A shoulder closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible in the eastbound direction for restriping of the traffic island, between mile post 23 to 23.06, in the vicinity of Makeke Road and Waimea Canyon Drive, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Nov. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
