George Pu‘u Kalaiwaa
George Pu‘u Kalaiwaa, of Anahola, Kauai passed away on Sept. 9, 2024, at the age of 92. He was born on Dec. 8, 1931, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
He is survived by children Nadine N. (Steve Milter) Kalaiwaa, George E. “Keoki” Kalaiwaa, Dereck A. (Norine) Kalaiwaa, Andrew L. “AJ” Kalaiwaa, Francis K. (Kimberlee) Kalaiwaa, grandchildren Lindsey K.S. Kalaiwaa, Allyn R.N. Kalaiwaa, Lawson N.F. Kalaiwaa, Luke A. Kalaiwaa, and Logan M. Kalaiwaa.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Kilauea. Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m. and Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m.

Thomas ‘Tom’ D. Powers
Thomas “Tom” D. Powers, 76, of the Northshore, Kaua‘i, passed away on Oct. 24, 2024, peacefully at home. A resident of Kaua‘i for 55 years, he was raised in Laguna Beach, and was born in Orange County, New Jersey, on Feb. 16, 1948. He was a builder and accomplished athlete.
He was preceded in death by his parents John F. “Jack” and Marceil “Pat” Powers.
A beloved husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Riki Powers, sons Reno (Chelsea) Powers, Roy Powers, daughter Malia Powers, brothers John “Jeff’ (Donna) Powers, Christopher (Janet) Powers and grandsons Ryder, Cassius, Dawson and Maverick.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
