Sgt. Eugene Delos Reyes
Sgt. Eugene Delos Reyes, 66, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle and brother-in-law has gone to be with the Lord. He passed away at Wilcox Hospital on Sept. 17, 2024. Born on Aug. 26, 1958 in Lihu‘e, Kaua‘i, Hawaii to Eugenio and Catalina Delos Reyes.
He married his high school sweetheart, Grace. They have three children, Gloryann “Glory”, Eugene Jr. and Ryan “Rai Rai”.
During his Junior and Senior year in High School, Eugene worked for Neil Rapozo’s gas station both in Lihu‘e and Kapaia. After graduating from Kaua‘i High School, he joined the United States Marine Corps on June 18, 1977 in the field of Communication Specialist. In 1990, he decided to leave the Marine Corps, so he received his honorable discharge certificate. He then worked for BOSS Electric on O‘ahu. He missed the military life and he decided to join the Army National Guard in 1991. Two weeks before hurricane Iniki hit in 1992 he decided to move his family to Kaua‘i where he continued with his Army National Guard service and worked full-time for Meadow Gold where he was a dairy processor. In 2003, in no fault of his own he became disabled with a brain injury and was unable to work. Eugene left Meadow Gold and retired from the military after 23 years of service. Eugene was a very loving, caring, understanding man with a gentle disposition. He enjoyed going to church and helped with the confirmation and youth group at St. Rapheal’s Church in Koloa.
Eugene was predeceased in death by his parents Eugenio and Catalina Delos Reyes, sister Linda Delos Reyes-Olores and brother Patrick Delos Reyes.
He is survived by his wife Grace, children Gloryann “Glory” (Charles) Delos Reyes-Skaggs, Eugene Jr. and Ryan “Rai Rai” (Rowan). Grandchildren Alexis Brown, Nevaeh-Ann Skaggs, Mikah, Noah and Savannah Delos Reyes. Brother Paul (Imelda) Delos Reyes, sister Cynthia Cindy” Delos Reyes, sister Rosemary “Rosey” Delos Reyes and brother John (Richard) Delos Reyes. Along with numerous uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
His love of the ocean included activities such as fishing, snorkeling, body surfing, picking opihis and puka shells. In his quiet times he loved to sing and listen to Kalapana, Cecelio and Kapono, and Elvis Presley.
We would like to acknowledge Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital, and their entire staff for their dedication and love in caring for Eugene. We would also like to thank Wilcox Hospital ICU and 4th floor staff.
His memorial service will be on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Church, in Lihu‘e. Visitation 8:45 a.m. and mass at 10 a.m. He will be laid to rest at the Hawai‘i State Veterans Cemetery in Kane‘ohe, O‘ahu, Friday, Nov. 15, 2024.

Loretta Rapada Agosto
Loretta “Loring” Rapada Agosto passed away on Sept. 1, 2024, at the Queens Wahiawa on Oahu at the age of 95. She was born on Oct. 3, 1928, in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. Retired Private Caregiver and Certified Nurse’s Aide at the Kauai Care Center in Waimea formerly known as Kauai Care Home.
Loretta was preceded in death by husband Fortunato Agosto Sr., father Juan “Apo” Rapada, mother Dominga Raposas Rapada, sons Robert “Aggos” Agosto, Fortunato “Foto” Agosto Jr., grandsons Tyson Pagador and Ryan Yamamoto.
Loretta is survived by her children Kathryn (Dennis) Yamamoto, Ben (Anna) Agosto, Elizabeth “Liz” (George) Kawamura, Jane (Rodney) Williams, Lorna (Tommy) Takayama, Lesley (Michael) Castillo, Brandon Agosto, grandchildren Sherri (Larry) Ephan, Michelle (Kyle) Furutani, Jacy (Pastor Kipi) Higa, Shilum Agosto, Shayla Agosto, Shaun (Jacie) Kawamura, Tia Kawamura, Rory (Jeni Kaohelaulii) Agosto, Megan (Clifton) Ephan, Christian Agosto, Daniel (Rachel) Takayama, Micah Takayama, Hailey Castillo, Alana Williams, Noah Takayama, Mikayla Castillo, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at the Scared Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 9496 Kaumaulii Highway, Waimea. Visitation with family at 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. followed by Celebration of Life and Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. Casual attire and flowers welcome.
Walton M. Nishioka
Walton M. Nishioka, 62, of Kapaa, passed away on Aug. 26, 2024. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Oct. 26, 1961, and was a maintenance worker for the State of Hawaii.
He was preceded in passing by his father Wilfred Nishioka, brother Waldon Nishioka and brother-in-law Eric Koga.
Walton is survived by his mother Florence Nishioka, brother Nathan Nishioka, sister Alison Koga, nephew Dane Koga, niece Cailee (Justin) Estes, grandnieces Brooke and Blake Estes, an uncle, aunties and cousins.
Private family services were held. The family requests no koden.

Rosemary Leialoha Morris
Rosemary Leialoha Morris, 81, of Kalaheo, passed away on Sept. 11, 2024, at Kauai Care Center. She was born in Makaweli, Hawaii, on Feb. 7, 1943, and worked as a custodian at PMRF.
She was preceded in passing by her parents Joseph and Rosalina Chandler Andrade, sister Agnes (Sonny) Perreira, and son-in-law Robert Summers.
Rosemary is survived by her husband Americo Morris Jr. of Kalaheo, children Monica Maile (Perry) Aguinaldo of Kaumakani, Val Summers of Kea‘au, Rosalie Nani Morris of Virginia, Eric Morris of Kalaheo, Jaime (Nelle) Morris of Kekaha, Vince Morris of Kalaheo, Alita Morris of Kalaheo, siblings Sonny (Lusalle) Andrade of Lawai, Cecilia (Benny) Perreira of Kalaheo, Keikilani (Wayne) Harada of Wainiha, 29 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Nov. 30, 2024, at Hanapepe Neighborhood Center with visitation starting at 9 a.m. and lunch to follow.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Downs and Kauai Hospice and Sarah Santiago and the Waimea Care Center Staff.

Peter Michael Alisna Sr.
Peter Michael Alisna Sr., 62, of Lihue, Kauai, born Sept. 16, 1962, and went to heaven on Oct. 4, 2024.
Peter was born in Kealia, Kauai, and graduated from Kapaa High School, Class of 1980. He retired from the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation, Airports Division. He also served in the Army National Guard from 1983 to 1990.
Predeceased by mother Lourdes (Maglinti) Alisna, brothers Wayne Alisna and Dominic “Mickey” Alisna.
Remaining to cherish Peter’s memory is his wife Lorna Tatemichi-Alisna, children Brandon (Tressann)Tatemichi, Ronessa Alisna, Peter (Stephanie Oligo) Alisna Jr., Taryn Alisna, grandchildren Kameryn Alisna, Arianna Alisna, Koamalu Tatemichi, Kauanoe Tatemichi, father Domingo Alisna Sr., brothers Perry Alisna (Kathy), Anthony Alisna, James Alisna (Leanne Yadao-Alisna) and sister Donna Ragsac (Primo Ragsac Jr.) Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Nov. 16, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Church. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date on Oahu at Mililani Memorial Park.

Patricia Rosalina ‘Saling’ Gagarin Reyes
Patricia Rosalina “Saling” Gagarin Reyes, of Kapaa, passed away on Oct. 16, 2024, at Wilcox Medical Center at the age of 98. She was born on March 1, 1926, in Oaig Daya, Candon, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. She was a laborer for Lihue Sugar Plantation and Kauai Nursery & Landscaping.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bernardo Reyes Sr., son Edmundo Reyes, grandchildren Brandon and Sarai Reyes, parents Francisco and Luisa Gagarin, sisters Pacita Gagarin, Leonida Gagarin and son-in-law Aliivaa Valaau.
She is survived by her son Bernardo (Eliros) Reyes Jr. of Lihue, daughters Luisita (Alivaa) Valaau of Oahu, Clarissa (Virgilia Bautista Jr.) Reyes of Kapaa, grandchildren Chantel (Darrelle-Wood) Valaau, Chelsey (Sam) Buckley, Alisa (Norman) Vincent, Kevin (Bailey San Augustin-Nordmeier) Reyes, Justin (Yajaira) Reyes, Andrew Reyes, great-grandchildren Charrelle Valaau-Woods, Dallas Valaau-Woods, Armani Woods, Avery Reyes, Raiden Buckley, Nia Vincent, Eliana Reyes, Anthony Soto, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, at the St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Parish in Kapaa. Visitation from 9 to 10:45 a.m. followed by Mass at 11 a.m. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Beverly Kehaulani Kanahele
Beverly Kehaulani Kanahele, of Kauai, passed away on Oct. 27, 2024, in Waimea at the age of 52. She was born on April 20, 1972. She was in the food processing business.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Kamakauliuli Kanahele Sr. and Beverly Kehaulani Kanahele and brother Robert Kamakauliuli Kanahele Jr.
She is survived by her husband Dusty Kuulei Baniamina of Hanapepe, son Mark Kamakauliuli Kanahele (Rebecca Cameron) of Waimea, daughter Kuuleipuauionalani Kanahele-Beniamina of Hanapepe, brother Johnston Keali’iokalani (Brianne) Kanahele of Kapahi, sister Donella Kaleiuilani Kanahele of Hanapepe, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawai from 9 a.m. to noon. The family requests casual attire.
