Kudos to Nikki Ige and competition coordinator Avery Kano on hosting the cheer competition in the old Kauai High School gym (Avery said the school isn’t renting out the new gymnasium) that attracted four teams from off-island Koolauloa from Kahuku, Oahu, that brought its Tiny Mites and Junior PeeWee squads to their first competition in Pop Warner football.
Coming on the closing echoes of the Pop Warner cheer, Kauai High School will host the Central Pacific Bank Kauai Interscholastic Federation cheer championships on Monday starting at 5:30 p.m. at the school’s new gymnasium … go early because once the competition starts, the doors will be shut.
Congratulations, Kailee-Ann Baltazar and Kapaa High School football quarterback Evan Daligdig for being named the 2024 Homecoming Royalty during the Saturday football contest that the Warriors handily defeated a highly-injured Waimea High School 58-9. Kudos to Coach Kylie Linoz and the Menehune (how many had to leave the Fall Festival, early to catch the bus?) on a valiant effort!
A reminder that Halloween (Wilcox Hospital, KVMH and Mahelona hospitals have keiki activities planned!) is on Thursday with the 9th Kalaheo Dental Candy Buyback and The Veterans Celebration following on Friday and Saturday.
