Kudos to Kumu Hula Leinaala Pavao Jardin and Halau Ka Lei Mokihana O Leinaala for adding the Sunday matinée performance to the halau’s weekend hoike at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall. Randall Francisco was thrilled that he could get a ticket for after the Kauai Chocolate &Coffee Festival where Pablo Hernandez of Pablo’s Dogs (Sumiko’s said he couldn’t finish it in one sitting) brought the Mexican hot dogs to the Lihue side of the Wailua Bridge, and Bev Pang (she was volunteering at the silent auction, just like how she does at the Heiva i Kauai) wanted to know where the buffalo meat at Kickshaw’s came from.
The last of this year’s free pumpkins for Halloween will go out on Saturday when the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, Kauai Region partners with Alaska Airlines and the Kekaha Agricultural Association present the Kauai Healthy Living Fall Festival on the campus of the Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital from 9 a.m. to noon. In addition to the free pumpkins, there will be Healthy Living vendors, food, health tips from doctors, free giveaways, a lucky drawing and entertainment by Cruz Control.
