Albert John Souza
Al “Johnny” Souza passed away on Sept. 8, 2024. He was born on Oct. 6, 1964, in Kauai, Hawaii. He was a retired CEO and independent consultant for medical services in California. He recently moved back to his home in Kauai.
Albert was preceded in death by daughter Anna Krystela Souza and father Albert Souza.
He is survived by mother Mildred “Millie” Souza, sister Margaret (Gerry Riopta) Souza, two very special nieces Brianna Kaneshiro, Alyssa Kaneshiro, children Johnny Souza, Millie Gissel Souza, Liliana Souza, Cindy Frausto, Jessica Alvarez and two grandchildren.
Family and friends on Kauai are welcome to reach out to mom Millie or sister Margaret, as services will only be held in California at a later date, where he will be put to final rest.
Wayne Ajimura
Wayne Ajimura, of Hanapepe, passed away on Sept. 8, 2024, at the age of 76. He was born on Sept. 26, 1947, in Lihue. He retired from the U.S. Army and was a self-proprietor.
He was preceded in death by father Masaichi Ajimura, daughter Sharon Ajimura, sisters Vickie Ajimura, Shelly Kabat and brother Alvin Ajimura.
He is survived by daughters Janel Ajimura of Hawaii Island, Mackenzie Ajimura of Lanai, grandchildren Justin Paaaina, Jaylin Paaaina, mother Yuriko Ajimura of Hanapepe, brother Clyde (Dominga) Ajimura of Hanapepe, sisters Lynn Viquelia of Mission Viejo, California, Mary Ajimura of Gardena, California, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe starting at 11 a.m. After the service, box lunch can be picked up at Wong’s in Hanapepe.

Cornelia ‘Cory’ Ellisor
Cornelia “Cory” Ellisor, of Kalaheo, passed away on Sept. 21, 2024, at home at the age of 83. She was born on July 11, 1941, in Haarlem, Netherlands. She was an office manager for MLBTAX, LLC.
She was preceded in death by parents Maria Hameetman and Maartin Hameetman, sisters Tini de Vendt, Nora Brink, Maria Lans, brother Jan Hameetman, brothers-in-law Joop de Vendt, Klaas Brink and Pete Lans.
She is survived by husband of 50+ years, Calvin Ellisor of Kalaheo, previous husband Karl Svoboda of Haarlem, Netherlands, sons Karl Svoboda of Salem, Oregon, Mark Svoboda of Kalaheo, stepsons Calvin Earp of Miller Grove, Texas, Scott Ellisor of Weatherford, Texas, daughter Patricia Brink of Kalaheo, daughters-in-law Marieke Svoboda, Sonia Earp, Julie Ellisor, grandchildren Hayley Nordruft, Megan Ellisor, Ryan Ellisor, Grant Earp, Candace Earp, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, at the Kalaheo Missionary Church in Kalaheo. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by service at 9:30 a.m. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Joan Clare Kuhlman
Joan Clare Kuhlman passed away on Oct. 10, 2024, at the age of 88, in Lihue. She was born on Aug. 30, 1936, in Honolulu. She was a housewife and loving mother to her four children and a long-time resident of Kailua, Oahu before moving to Kauai with her husband Richard.
She was preceded in death by parents Frank Freitas Calistro, Lucy Carvalho Calistro, husband Richard Mitchell Kuhlman and brother Douglas Calistro.
She is survived by sister Mildred (Bernard) Kane of Kailua, daughters Phyllis (Niki) Stanwood of Lihue, Carol (Rick Bellany) Kuhlman of Rutland, Vermont, Terri Flores of Kaneohe, son Gary (Jo-Ellen) Kuhlman of Georgetown, Massachusetts, grandchildren Isaac Swearingin, Jacob Swearingin, Alyssa Stanwood-Gorvine, Jesse Kuhlman, Jasmine Kizer, Tiare Flores, ten great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Gary Kuhlman, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be over ashes but will be scheduled on Oahu at a later date.

Chanelle Kaleiokalani Hunter
Chanelle Kaleiokalani Hunter, of Kapaa, passed away on Oct. 3, 2024, at the age of 34. She was born in Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii, on March 4, 1990.
She was preceded in passing by her mother Valarie Caminos-Adric, grandfathers Joe Caminos, Babe Adric and uncle Kolo Adric.
Chanelle is survived by her father Jonathan Caminos, siblings Cheyna (Rad) Caminos, Cherisse “Ku‘u” (Keoni) Caminos, husband Ryan Hunter, stepson Oliver Hunter, grandmothers Maile Adric, Naty Caminos, nephews Cheydon Caminos-Planas, Raden Caminos-Lingaton, Kashton-Ryder Huddy, Karson-Reign Huddy, Kana, Kaui, and niece Kaela.
A celebration in life will be held in the future.

Ernest Thane Caires, of Lawai, passed away on July 28, 2024, at the age of 74. He was born on April 2, 1950, in Lihue. He was a commercial fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his father Ernest Theodore Caires, mother Anne Martha Caires and brother Clyde Caires.
He is survived by his life partner Georgeatte D. Albina, sons Thane (Mariko) Kaleo Caires of Lawai, Kaikane Sherman of Lawai, Jason Albina of Kauai, daughter Kristi-Lynn Rita (Michael) of Kalaheo, grandchildren Braden, Kylen, Teague, Ho‘ola‘i, Alyssa Caires, Cyrus Carvalho-Sherman, Ka‘iwa, Ihilani Schimmelfennig, Micah, Mikro, Mikey, Shannon, Makani Rita, Tinna, Koden, Jayla, Malu Albina, brother Roger (Susan) Caires of Kalaheo, Louis (Nancy) Caires of Honolulu, sister Valerie (Raymond) Ornellas of Wailua, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at the Eleele Port Allen Boat Club. Visitation with family is from 12:30 to 2 p.m., followed by lunch. The family suggests casual attire and kindly omits flowers.
