Ernest Thane Caires
Ernest Thane Caires, of Lawai, passed away on July 28, 2024, at the age of 74. He was born on April 2, 1950, in Lihue. He was a commercial fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his father Ernest Theodore Caires, mother Anne Martha Caires and brother Clyde Caires.
He is survived by his life partner Georgeatte D. Albina, sons Thane (Mariko) Kaleo Caires of Lawai, Kaikane Sherman of Lawai, Jason Albina of Kauai, daughter Kristi-Lynn Rita (Michael) of Kalaheo, 17 grandchildren, brother Roger (Susan) Caires of Kalaheo, Louis (Nancy) Caires of Honolulu, sister Valerie (Raymond) Ornellas of Wailua, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at the Eleele Port Allen Boat Club. Visitation with family is from 12:30 to 2 p.m., followed by lunch. The family suggests casual attire and kindly omits flowers.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
