LIHUE — A number of road-related projects are on tap in the days ahead with grass cutting, tree trimming and guardrail repair making up the bulk of the work, the Hawaii Department of Transportation said in an update on Friday, Oct. 4.
The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending Friday, Oct. 11. All work is weather permitting.
Anahola
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for guardrail repair, between mile post 14.5 to 15, in the vicinity of Hokualele Road and Aliomanu Road on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kaumakani
A right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for guardrail clearing, between mile post 19 to 22, in the vicinity of Kaumakani Avenue, on Monday, Oct. 7, through Friday, Oct. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kekaha
A right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for replacement of culverts, between mile post 24.37 to 24.46, in the vicinity of Kikiaola Boat Harbor, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Kokee
A right lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) is possible in either direction for guardrail repairs, between mile post 2.8 to 2.9, on Friday, Oct. 11, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) is possible in either direction for repaving work, between mile post 11.5 to 14, on Monday, Oct. 7, through Friday, Oct. 11, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Lawai
A right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile post 10 to 14, in the vicinity of Akemama Road, on Monday, Oct. 7, through Friday, Oct. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Lihue
A right lane closure on Rice Street (Route 51) is possible in the northbound direction for slope stabilization, in the vicinity of Royal Sonesta driveway entrance, on Monday, Oct. 7, through Friday, Oct. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A right lane closure on Kapule Highway (Route 51) is possible in either direction for bridge maintenance, in the vicinity of Ahukini Road and Kuhio Highway, on Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for striping and sign installations, between mile post 0.78 to 2.5, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, beginning Monday, Oct. 7, through Friday, Oct. 11 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in the southbound direction for grass cutting and tree trimming, between mile post 3.2 to 3.6, in the vicinity of Kauai Beach Road, on Monday, Oct. 7, through Thursday, Oct. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Nawiliwili
A right lane closure on Nawiliwili Road (Route 58) is possible in either direction for tree trimming between mile post 0.85 to 0.67, in the vicinity of Wilcox Road and Lala Road, on Monday, Oct. 7, through Friday, Oct. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Princeville
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in either direction for drain line and storm manhole installations, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Monday, Oct. 7, through Friday, Oct. 11, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Papio Place, on Monday, Oct. 7 through Thursday, Oct. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Wailua Homesteads
A single lane closure on Kuamoo Road (Route 580) is possible in either direction for road reconstruction and resurfacing, between mile post 0 to 3.9, in the vicinity of Kuhio Highway and Hawaiiana Road, on Monday, Oct. 7, through Friday, Oct. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
