Magdalena Layaoen Parubrub
Magdalena Layaoen Parubrub, of Koloa, passed away on Sept. 20, 2024, at the age of 101. She was born on Oct. 14, 1922, in Baay, Butac, Ilocos Norte,Philippines. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by husband Restitato Gado Parubrub, daughter Rebecca P. Dela Cruz, son Noel Layaoen, parents Genaro and Anastacia Layaoen, brothers Jose L. Layaoen and Efren B. Layaoen.
She is survived by sons Henry (Ederline) Parubrub of Kekaha, Dusty (Pamela) Parubrub of Koloa, Wilber (Denise) Parubrub of Kekaha, daughter Lily Millare of Eleele, 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, brother Mac (Delly) Layaoen of Koloa, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawai. Visitation from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by a celebration of life at 3 p.m. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Harumi Sakai Morita
Harumi Sakai Morita, of Eleele, passed away on Sept. 3, 2024, in Eleele, at the age of 98. She was born on March 24, 1926, in Eleele. She was a sales clerk for Big Save and Ben Franklin in Eleele.
She is survived by her children Rowland Morita (Joan) of Kalaheo, Ora Morita of Eleele, Curtis Morita (Lisa) of Oahu, Karen Morita-Lee (John Hanale) of Kalaheo, Bert Morita (Jan) of Kalaheo, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sister Ruth Emoto of Lihue, numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service was held.

David Juaquin Texeira
David Juaquin Texeira, 82, of Santa Ana, California, passed away on July 15, 2024, in California. He was born on March 9, 1942, in Lihue, Kauai. He was a heat treater at SPS Technologies for 40 years and a real estate investor.
He was preceded in death by parents Angeline Leiloke Chandler Texeira, William Texeira, siblings Anthony, William Jr., Michael and Stephen Texeira.
He is survived by children Jonathan and his mother Ann, David, Issac, Alex, Agnes, Daphne, Selena and their mother Norma, sisters Angeline Honey (Lynn Turner), Sweetie (Patrick Sr.) Lopez, Chanel (Mario) Catbagan, sister-in-law Lahapa (William Jr.) Texeira, brother Aloysius (Leslie) Texeira, grandchildren, family, and friends.
A service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Kapaa, Kauai. Visitation begins at 9 a.m., followed by service at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date. The family requests casual attire.
Emilio Mangiduyos Bayudan Sr.
Emilio Mangiduyos Bayudan Sr., of Waimea, passed away on Sept. 24, 2024, at the age of 91. He was born on May 21, 1933, in Dingras, Philippines. He was a retired sugar plantation worker with Kekaha Sugar Plantation.
He was preceded in death by his son Emilio S. Bayudan Jr.
He is survived by his wife Zenaida Bayudan, sons Nelson Bayudan of Waimea, Melvin Bayudan (Renee) of California, grandchildren Tiffany Bayudan, Isabella Bayudan, Isaac Bayudan, brother Rufino Bayudan (Lolita) of Waimea, sisters Juanita Aquitania of Waimea, Rosita Bayudan of Waimea, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, at the St. Theresa Church in Kekaha. Visitation from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by Mass. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Wadella Kuuipo Kaleimamahu
Wadella Kuuipo Kaleimamahu, 57, of Anahola, passed away on June 18, 2024. She was born on Kauai on Oct. 4, 1966.
Preceded in death by her mother Florence “Aunty Flo” Kaleimamahu.
She is survived by her four children Dontez Taylor, Darren Taylor, Theresa Taylor, Tosha Taylor, numerous aunties, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at Anini Beach beginning at 1 p.m. The family suggests casual or aloha attire.

Patricia Mae Palama
Patricia Mae Palama, 95, of Kalaheo, passed away on Sept. 26, 2024, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital. She was born in Torrance, California, on May 19, 1929. She was a receptionist for Grove Farm Museum.
Preceded in death by parents Randolph and Margaret Longley, husband Philip K. Palama Jr. and son Philip K. Palama III.
She is survived by son Steven K. Palama, daughters Pennie Palama, Kathy Palama, Carrie Palama, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
