Lockouts are a rare ‘nuclear’ option in labor fights

HONOLULU — It’s uncertain when or how the lockout of roughly 600 nurses at Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women &Children will be resolved, but it may be remembered as a historic clash between unionized labor and management in Hawaii.
